The Power of Inquiry: Elevate Your Life through Quality Questions

Welcome to a Potential Attained blog that explores profound insights that can propel us toward a life of purpose and fulfilment. In this blog, I want to delve into a topic that has recently been given a different perspective for me. It is encapsulated in Dr. John DeMartini's powerful quote:

"The quality of your life is dictated by the quality of the questions you ask."

I am currently exploring a number of different options for what do to next, having completed a contract recently. In discussions with businesses and potential work colleagues, it is clear that the questions asked tell you a lot more than the answers often do. This brought back to mind the insight from Dr DeMartini and reminded me that I needed to be asking myself some well crafted and challenging questions to assist me in making the best choice on where to move forward to next.

Then last week I attended an even talk with Andy Thomas one of Britain's most prolific authors and lecturers on 'mysteries and histories'. His work on truth issues, unexplained mysteries and global cover-ups is world renowned, and he is respected for making history and folklore entertaining and accessible. In his lecture he went to great length to explain that the art of his role is actually about being curious, asking the right questions

Curiosity as the Catalyst:

Dr. John DeMartni

At the heart of Dr. DeMartini's philosophy lies the profound notion that the questions we pose shape the landscape of our lives. Consider curiosity as the catalyst for transformation – a force that propels us toward deeper understanding and a more profound connection with the world around us. I won't pretend to be able to explain this as well as John, so if this topic intrigues you then find 20mins to listen to the man himself explain it..

The Seeking of Truth

Andy Thomas

In the realm of truth-seeking, we find resonance with individuals like Andy Thomas, a stalwart in the pursuit of knowledge. Thomas exemplifies the spirit of asking questions that challenge the status quo, pushing the boundaries of conventional wisdom. Yet, his approach is not a blind quest for answers but a methodical journey of evidence-based inquiry.

Curiosity Meets Evidence-Based Inquiry:

Curiosity is a potent force, but when coupled with a commitment to evidence-based inquiry, it becomes a dynamic tool for personal and intellectual growth. It's not merely about asking questions for the sake of it; it's about seeking answers grounded in truth and verifiable information. If we apply that combination to our lives, personally and or professionally then just wow! what an impact that will have.

Navigating the Sea of Possibilities:

In the grand tapestry of life, the questions we pose open doorways to possibilities. By asking empowering and insightful questions, we navigate the sea of our potential, unlocking pathways to understanding and growth.

Quality Questions, Quality Life:

So, lets make this practical. Consider, for a moment, the questions you ask daily. Are they empowering? are they insightful? Are they aligned with your deepest desires?

Dr. DeMartini reminds us that the quality of our life is intricately linked to the quality of our questions. By elevating the nature of our inquiries, we elevate the trajectory of our lives.

So here are some starters for ten to get you going:

  • Are you doing what you truly want to do?

  • How many promises have you made and fulfilled to yourself?

  • Will you break the rules because of someone/something you care about?

  • Is there anything you can't let go of but you know you should?

  • Do you remember anyone you had issues with 10 years ago? does it matter now?

  • Are you afraid of making mistakes even though there's no punishment at all?

  • What's the difference between you and other people?

  • What are your strengths and weaknesses?

  • What matters most to you?

  • What will make your life worthwhile?

  • What are you most proud of yourself for achieving?

  • What is one thing you've regretted doing and what did you learn from it?

  • What do you need to get off your chest?

  • What do you wish others knew about you?

  • What failure turned out to be a blessing?

  • What have you always waned to do, but haven't? What's stopping you?

  • What changes do you wish to see in the world? What and how can you contribute?

Embrace the Art of Inquiry:

As you move forward exploring whatever aspect of your life this year holds for you, remember that questioning is not only a tool for curiosity but a sacred art form that sculpts the masterpiece of your life. Let Dr. John DeMartini's wisdom and Andy Thomas' insistence on quality questions be your guiding light, and approach each question with the intention to unveil deeper truths, challenge assumptions, and ultimately, attain your fullest potential.

I for one am definitely celebrating the transformative power of quality questions. As I assessed the options available to me following the end of my contract, and factored in my hopes, dreams, passions, talents and purpose what i really wanted to do became very clear to me. Now I am focussed on taking the necessary steps to bring that to reality. I am committed to supporting a community of curious minds, dedicated to the pursuit of a life that reflects the highest expression of who we are. Watch this space for what I'll do next... and i can't want to see what you'll do too.

Until next time,

Blessed Be.
